TAP participates in the Gas Infrastructure World Caspian 2010

Kjetil Tungland, Managing Director of TAP, presented the pipeline project at the Gas Infrastructure World Caspian forum in Baku, Azerbaijan.

In his presentation, he highlighted key features of TAP which will contribute to the security of European energy supply, such as physical reverse flow, enhancing energy security for the SEE regiona gas storage option in Albania and expandability of the pipeline from 10 to 20 bcm. TAP Presentation >>

Tungland reiterated an announcement issued by TAP shareholders last week, reconfirming that the TAP pipeline is designed to cater for the volumes of gas from Shah Deniz  field (phase two) in Azerbaijan. Caspian gas will fill TAP’s initial capacity of 10 bcm per year, it will be transported from Azerbaijan to Europe. TAP will not transport any Iranian gas under the current political circumstances.
